A Day on Salt Spring Island

A Day on Salt Spring Island

September 6, 2025

September 5, 2025

Trudie and I took the day to visit Salt Spring Island.

Ruckle Park

An interesting wood fence at the park entrance of Ruckle Park on Salt Spring Island
A picnic bench surrounded by fern and trees.
An old tree stump, knotty and with an opening, like a entranceway through it.
A nurse tree trunk is now the source of life for this new tree in the forest.
Sunlight through the trees
Large ferns in groups dot the forest park entrance.
A grouping of several tall bare tree trunks in the middle of the forest.
The trunks of old growth forest trees stand, like teachers, beside the bench of the student, as the sunlight of wisdom shines through them.
Three tall cedars stand together in the dappled sunlight that reaches the forest floor.

Burgoyne Church

The historic Burgoyne United Church - a white and black single level house with a steeple in a white picket fenced yard.
A historic church sign in the picket fenced yard.

Fulford Ganges Road

Two wood windows of an old wood frame building on Salt Spring Island. The photographers perspective of contrasting old brown weeds in front of this wood frame building.
A photographers perspective of looking through a doorway and adjacent window of an old wood framed building.
This old wood frame building on Salt Spring Island is rich in bright colored and interesting graffiti.

An old wood barn, standing in tall trees and tangled weeds, and covered in graffiti.
